Inspiration in Le Marche
We have been in Italy for over a week now. The house as well as my studio have been cleaned, the new website is a fact, I can start painting now!
I open my laptop, scroll through my photo's in the 'Inspiration' file and stop at the irresistable snapshot of my swingdance teacher Anouk. This photo was taken at the annual Italian swingdance festival Summer Jamboree in Senigallia, not far from us, a few years ago and is just what I am looking for. My hands start to itch, ideas start to come up. This always happens when I am at this place. With this view and all this green surrounding me. The silence over here. This is all enormously inspiring!
I will work with graffiti spraypaint fort the background, something I have been experimenting with for a short while now and really love doing. Combines very well with this image, which I will then do in oil. I pick out an empty canvas, open the french windows, collect my boxes of graffiti cans and inkmarkers and disappear into my painters bubble…..
