In the series 'Inspiring Icons' a painting of the iconic David Bowie, far ahead of his time concerning gender neutrality and self expression and an amazing performer and musician! 

In this painting I continued with the meaning of the handgesture of David Bowie "Be Still". There are several quotes to be found, all concerning the importance of silence. There is a lot of movement, mark making, colour and dynamic in this painting, same way there was in the life of this flamboyant performer!

Built up in several layers of mixed media and finished with multiple layers of oil.
