In the series 'Stay Wild' a painting of baby elephant Bondeni. He is one of the many baby elephants that got rescued by Sheldrick Wildlife Trust and has a very playful and 'naughty' personality, but in a good way. He has the habit of giving you 'the eye' as a game.
The orphans that get rescued get the care they need for as long as it takes before they get reïntegrated into the wild. It is truly amazing what they do, the elephant orphanage is just one of the many projects they have to preserve the wildlife in Kenya and they have a special place in my heart. Therefore, I will donate 20% of the proceedings of this painting to the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust. What you love, you protect... This painting is a commission for a lovely family in Florida, USA
As you may know I have a deep love for African wildlife. Having witnessed them several times in their natural habitat during my travels to Kenya, South Africa and Tanzania has been a real life changer for me. This experience left me in awe and filled with gratitude, there really is nothing like it. Based on those feelings I have decided to do a new series of wildlife called 'Stay Wild' with the intention of creating more awareness for wildlife preservation. Through my art, I want to spread a feeling of hope and positivity, to do good for our beautiful wild animals so they can truly stay wild and live in their natural surroundings.
